[miningmx.com] -- Caterpillar Inc, the world's largest maker of earth-moving equipment, said on Monday it plans to raise prices on most of its machinery by up to 2 percent next year.
The U.S. manufacturer said in a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission that the hike would reflect "current industry factors and current and expected general economic conditions."
It plans to discuss specifics with its dealers in the near future, the Peoria, Illinois-based company said.
Caterpillar shares were up 1 percent to $49.29 in pre-market trading.
