SA platinum output still under pressure

[miningmx.com] – SOUTH Africa’s platinum sector continues to suffer the effects of a five-and-a-half month strike last year with November mining data showing output was 20% lower than pre-strike levels, said BDLive.

“However, the recovery stalled in November with PGMs (platinum group metals) contracting 3.4% during the month.” BDLive cited data from Statistics SA which also showed that production from the mining sector was 1.2% lower in November.
