[miningmx.com] – THE Chamber of Mines of SA welcomed comments made by South African finance minister, Nhlanhla Nene, yesterday who said the sector had to get “on the front foot” locally and internationally.
Mike Teke, president of the CoM said this recognised the importance of the country’s mining sector to the National Development Plan, a broadly focused blue print aimed at stimulating economic growth in South Africa.
Nene also prioritised the efforts of the Mining Phakisa Lab which is a private and public sector initiative aimed at resolving constraints and hurdles that held back the growth of the mining sector in South Africa.
