Brown to seek more Eskom board members

[miningmx.com] – PUBLIC Enterprises minister, Lynne Brown, said her department would seek more board members for Eskom, including a chartered accountant, in an effort to unravel the mystery of the utility’s finances.

In an article by BDLive, Brown is quoted to have said: “”Like you, I’m told that Eskom’s in trouble and then a month later, when they are supposed to be in trouble, it actually survives. I want to know what is sitting in Eskom”.

Brown also said that South Africa was not near a total blackout despite moves in successive days to conserve up to 4,000MW of electricity. “Load shedding at stage 3 shows the seriousness of the constraints that we face but it is in no way an indication that we are close to a blackout,” said Brown in an article by Reuters.
