Gold Fields mines 535,000 oz in June Q

[miningmx.com] – GOLD Fields would report gold production of 535,000 ounces in the June quarter, roughly a 30,000 oz improvement over planned lower output in the previous quarter, the group said.

As a result of higher production, all in sustaining costs fell to $1,030 per ounce from $1,143/oz previously. All-in costs were $1,060/oz compared to $1,164/oz previously.
Full year gold production would be 2.2 million oz, it said.

Gold Fields posted a $14m net loss for the March quarter which featured a hefty 25% decline in output from its mechanised South African mine, South Deep. However, it said its fortunes would improve as the year progressed.
