Mbada Diamonds to expand underground

[miningmx.com] – MBADA Diamonds, a Zimbabwean company in joint venture with the southern Africa country’s government, is to expand its workings to underground from surface, said Bloomberg News.

Mbada Diamonds mines in Zimbabwe’s Marange region in a joint venture with Zimbabwe Mining Development Corporation. It racked up annual sales of $1bn after four years in operation, said the newswire service.

The company is now ready to “invest heavily in conglomerate and kimberlitic’ mining, the company said. “The new phase of mining will require extensive capital, which is the company’s primary objective’ this year, the diamond explorer said.
