[miningmx.com] – DISAFFECTED miners belonging to the Association of Mineworkers & Construction Union (AMCU) were shifting their allegience to the National Union of Metalworkers, said Bloomberg News.
Citing Mphumzi Maqungo, national treasurer for the union – South Africa’s largest labour organisation – Bloomberg News said AMCU members were unhappy with a strike called on January 23 and now in its eleventh week.
“There are people who are coming to the organization and we’re taking them,’ Maqungo said. “We are getting in the mining industry.’
