[miningmx.com] -- Platinum junior Platmin, which is developing mines in South Africa, on Wednesday advised that mining activities had resumed following a strike at its Pilanesberg Platinum Mine in South Africa.
"The industrial action has delayed the ramp-up and commissioning programme," Platmin said in a statement to the JSE.
The mine management and the contractor are working together on a remedial plan to catch up any lost production.
The company did not disclose how much production had been lost.
It said the illegal strike by workers of the mining contractor MCC Contracts was due to non-recognition of a second union on the mine-site.
"The majority of the 500 workers that were previously discharged by MCC
have been re-instated," said Platmin.
