Renamo’s Dhlakama says “no need for war”

[miningmx.com] – RENAMO leader, Afonso Dhlakama, said there was no need for Mozambique to return to war despite contesting the outcome of election results so far from the southern African country which show Renamo opposition, Frelimo capturing 62% of the vote so far.

“I am not a warmonger,’ Bloomberg News cited Dhlakama to have said. He condemned the Southern African Development Community, however, for having declared the election fair and transparent.

Violent attacks that included areas near Beira and which forced Rio Tinto and Vale to temporarily halt exports of coking coal, would “never happen again’, said Dhlakama.
