[miningmx.com] – ANGLO American raised its full-year production target for its iron ore subsidiary, Kumba, following an improvement in the performance of its Sishen mine in South Africa’s Northern Cape province.
Kumba’s full-year output was raised to between 45 million and 46 million tonnes (mt) from between 44mt and 46mt, said BDLive. Sishen lifted output 37% in the September quarter to 13mt compared to the quarter in the previous financial year.
Kumba’s Kolomela mine about 80km from the Sishen mine turned in a record quarterly performance of 3.4mt, a 20% improvement year on year, said BDLive.
