In an interview on Radio 2000 @ 18:15 on 31 March 2008

[miningmx.com] -- WESIZWE Platinum looks set to start construction at its R5.6bn Frischgewaagd-Ledig platinum project later this year and is now on the look out for possible acquisitions.

Interviewed on Moneyweb's Power Hour Wesizwe CEO Mike Solomon said: "We must now look for downstream pipeline projects".

Wesizwe has a R168m power contingency plan included in its bankable feasibility study which designed is to ensure the company has enough power to get the plant built.

Solomon said Wesizwe has a contract with Eskom for two megawatts but the company needs five. These will be generated from diesel generators bought by Weisizwe.

Wesizwe released a bankable feasibility study into the project this week. It will construct a twin-shaft system to 980 metres below surface. Production will start in 2011, ramping up to an average 350,000 oz of four platinum group elements when steady state production is reached in 2016.
