[miningmx.com] -- South African Coal Mining Holdings (SACMH) executive director Melanie Steyn has resigned from her role with immediate effect, SACMH announced on Tuesday.

The company also clarified the reason for the suspension of its listing on the JSE as a result of an audit or review opinion on the company's financial results for the year ended 31 December 2008 not yet being available.

Shareholders are referred to the announcement released by the company on 30 March 2009 advising that the board had resolved to place the company's operations under care and maintenance for a period of three months and to the announcement dated 9 April 2009 containing the unaudited, unreviewed financial results of the company and advising that the auditors of the company had not been able to provide an audit or review opinion on the financial results as they had not completed their audit procedures.
