[miningmx.com] -- ZIMBABWE'S gold production tumbled 61% to 295.57 kgs in March.

Thomson Financial reported that the fall followed drops in the country's gold output of 56% in February and 47% in January.

According to the Zimbabwean Chamber of Mines the country has capacity to produce about 30 tonnes of gold annually but the crippling economic conditions, which have seen government holding back wages to miners, has led to the drop in production.
