Steel Posted: Mon, 05 May 2008 [miningmx.com] -- South African steel prices are set to rise another five percent in June, the Business Day reported. This will bring the total steel price increase for the year to date to 65%. The latest increase will bring teh average cost of flat steel to $950/tonne. ArcelorMittal SA said this compares favourable with international prices and that steel in Asia costst $970/tonne, Europe $1,000 and the US $1,080.
