[miningmx.com] -- A STRIKE is looming at Anglo American's Skorpion Zinc project in Namibia.

Bloomberg News reported that workers have voted to strike after a wage dispute.

"The Mineworkers Union of Namibia plans to inform the company today of its intention to stop work," reported Bloomberg citing comments in the Windhoek-based newspaper by a branch chairman of the union Michaeleno Kadhikwa.

The union wants an above-inflation wage increase of 14%, reported the newspaper. Anglo has offered 10%.
