[miningmx.com] -- URANIUM exploration company Xemplar Energy, which has discovered what is believed to be one of the world's biggest uranium deposits in Namibia, said on Tuesday that the company was in an "extremely good position" to meet the challenges and opportunities in the year ahead.

During 2008, the company raised significant financing of C$20m before the world markets crashed. This will provide "ample funding for the next two years' exploration programme," the company said in a statement to the JSE.

Xemplar – which is listed in Canada, Germany and Namibia – made headlines early last year when it made a discovery in the Warmbad area in southern Namibia.
