Kibo finalising power purchase agreement

[miningmx.com] – KIBO Mining said it had agreed the terms of reference for power purchase and grid connection agreements with the government of Tanzania where the firm is building the Rukwa coal and power project.

Louise Coetzee, CEO of Kibo Mining, said the finalisation of the terms of reference were the outcome of a week of “very successful and constructive discussions” with stakeholders in the Tanzanian government. The heads of terms for a coal supply agreement were also finalised.

The life of the 300MW power plant Kibo Mining is planning for Tanzania would require about 28.8 million tonnes of coal over 20 years. There was also potential to double the size of the power plant.
