Transnet unveils R9.65bn Saldanha uplift

[miningmx.com] – TRANSNET National Ports Authority (TNPA) unveiled a R9.65bn infrastructure project at Saldanha Bay which would enable it to better serve the offshore gas and oil industry, said BDLive.

The publication cited port manager Willem Roux as saying it was important for TNPA to seize the opportunity to service the oil rigs on the west and east coast of Africa.

“We know that if we do not use this opportunity now to capture this market then other ports in the southern hemisphere will gear themselves to capture the market,” said Roux.
