[miningmx.com] – ZIMPLATS, 87%-owned by Impala Platinum, posted only its second annual loss after paying a hefty one-off tax repayment, said Reuters.
Zimplats reported a record $74m loss for the full year ended June 30 after losing a court case in a long running dispute with the Zimbabwean authorities over paying of an additional profits tax totalling $55.3m.
In addition, it said its revenue fell 29% to $408m for the year after sales of platinum, palladium, rhodium and gold declined 20%, said Reuters.
