Dip in ferrochrome benchmark price

[miningmx.com] — THE European benchmark ferrochrome price for the
third quarter has been settled at $1.25 per pound: a 7% decrease from the $1.35/lb
of the current quarter.

The announcement came after ferrochrome traded at its highest price in a year during
the second quarter – a price movement that was tied to shortages stemming from
furnace closures.

Up to 45% of South African productive capacity had been temporarily shut as Eskom
bought back power from ferrochrome producers during the first quarter, for a period
up to end-May.
