[miningmx.com] — Kumba Iron Ore advised on Monday that for the 12 months ended December 2010, its headline earnings per share (HEPS) and earnings per share (EPS) are expected to be between R43.65 and R44.90.
Earnings and headline earnings are likely to be between R14.0bn and R14.4bn.
Headline earnings and basic earnings reported for the 12 months ended December 2009 were R6.972bn and R6.992bn respectively, while HEPS and EPS reported for the comparative period were R21.87 and R21.94 respectively.
The increase in earnings is attributable primarily to increases in export iron ore prices and sales volumes in the period, the company said.
