300 Sishen employees on strike

[miningmx.com] — KUMBA Iron Ore said on Wednesday that about 300
employees at the company’s Sishen mine in the Northern Cape have embarked on an
unprotected work stoppage.

“The employees are not represented by any of the recognised unions and their exact
demands are not clear,” read a company statement.

“The action is limited to one area within the vast mining area of the open-cast mine,
leaving most of the mine unaffected.”
