Gold Fields output stays flat

[miningmx.com] — GOLD Fields on Monday reported first-quarter production figures of 827,000 ounces, largely flat compared to Q1 2011’s 830,000oz.

The group said the figure “underpins the 2012 full year production guidance of 3.5 million ounces to 3.7 Moz”.

Total cash costs and notional cash expenditure for the quarter are expected to be approximately $875/oz (R218,000/kg) and $1,285/oz (R320,000/kg) respectively, based on an average exchange rate of R7.77/$.

The company said it would release full results for the period on May 17.
