
[miningmx.com] — FORMER Director-General at the Department of Mineral
Resources, Sandile Nogxina, is leaving South Africa on Wednesday to take up his new
position as the country’s ambassador to Mexico.
“My appointment is for four years, starting the first of March,’ he told Miningmx
on Tuesday.
Nogxina until recently was a special adviser to Mines Minister Susan Shabangu. He
served for 13 years as Director-General of the DMR before retiring on June 30, 2011. He
has been the longest serving DG of any department in South Africa post-1994.
