[miningmx.com] — JUDGE Raymond Zondo is not expected to release his full judgment in the North Gauteng High Court case over the disputed right in Sishen iron ore before Wednesday.
Zondo on Thursday ordered that Kumba Iron Ore’s Sioc was granted a 100% right by the department of mineral resources when the group had applied for a 78.6% right in Sishen. Any application lodged after June 2008 for a proportional right in Sishen, including the bid by Imperial Crown Trading 289, would be void, Zondo ordered.
This view was similar to the arguments of ArcelorMittal SA, another party in the case.
Zondo said on Thursday the full judgment would be delivered on Tuesday. However, the legal teams of some of the involved parties told Miningmx they’ve been informed Zondo was still finalising his judgment.
