Coetzer to take Bird’s mantle at Jubilee

[miningmx.com] — COLIN Bird is to step down as CEO of Jubilee Platinum and will be replaced by Leon Coetzer, currently the platinum miner’s MD of smelting and refining.
The resignation of Bird, who will become non-executive chairman, is part of a number of management changes at the company which also includes the resignation of current chairman, Malcolm Burne and the appointment of Eduard Victor as finance director in the place of Andrew Sarosi who will continue as an executive director.

“These changes and appointment are appropriate for the rapidly developing nature and operations of the company. I welcome Leon Coetzer in his new role as CEO and wholeheartedly support Colin Bird as my replacement,” said Burne.

Said Bird on his resignation: “Following the company’s successful acquisition of Braemore Resources and the focus on commercialisation of ConRoast technology, it is appropriate and timely that I step down as CEO”.

Jubilee Platinum bought Braemore Resources, which owns the ConRoast facilities, earlier in the year.
