Implats appoints Goodlace as new CEO

[miningmx.com] — IMPALA Platinum on Tuesday announced the appointment of Terence Goodlace as its CEO, with effect from July 1.

Goodlace would replace outgoing chief executive David Brown, who announced his resignation earlier in January.

“Terence brings with him extensive mining experience having worked in the mining
industry since the late 1970`s when he started his working career as a learner
miner,” read a company statement.

“He worked his way up to General Manager at Kinross and Evander Gold
Mines obtaining his Mine Managers Certificate of Competency (Metallipherous
Mining) in 1988. He also holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the
University of South Africa and a Masters in Business Administration from the
University of Wales.”

Goodlace is the current CEO of Metorex, which delisted from the JSE on January 1 following a takeover by China’s Jinchuan Group.

“Terence, who has served on the Board since August 2010, brings a wealth of mining knowledge to the Company and will be a great asset to the Implats team,” said Implats chairman Khotso Mokhele.
