[miningmx.com] — AFRICAN Rainbow Mineral (ARM) said on Tuesday the wage dispute at Modikwa Platinum, which led to a three week protected strike, has been resolved.
Modikwa had signed a two-year wage agreement with the National Union of Mineworkers. According to ARM’s head of investor relations, Jongisa Klaas, the agreement was settled at increases in a range of 8.5% at supervisory level, to 10% at the lower levels.
The same range would apply in the second year of the agreement.
She also said the mine lost approximately 1,000 ounces of PGM production per day for the duration of the strike.
The striking employees are expected to return to work on Wednesday.
