[miningmx.com] — ALLUVIAL diamond miner Trans Hex on Thursday reported that its November tender sales of South African production amounted to
R100.6m.

The sale consisted of 12,360 carats at an average price of $1,145 per carat and at an exchange rate of R7.10/$.

Ten single stones were sold for an average price of more than $10,000 per carat and one stone of 23.22 carats, from Baken Mine, for over $30,000 per carat.

Project Luana in Angola, in which Trans Hex holds a 33% stake, realised a total of $2.33m for its November sale – 5,700 carats at an average price of $409 per carat.

Both sales reflect continued strong demand and increasing prices for Trans Hex’s rough diamond production, it said.
