Galaxy Gold, ARM announce board changes

[miningmx.com] — African Rainbow Minerals on Monday announced the restructuring of its board of directors with the commncement of a process to appoint a successor for CEO Andre Wilkens.

This process was expected to be completed in February 2012, the company said. The incoming CEO would work with Wilkens for six months as part of a hand over process.

Wilkens would continue to serve as an ARM director.

Meanwhile, Galaxy Gold said non-executive chair Ian Watson has now been appointed in an executive capacity to assume day-to-day responsibility for the affairs of the company.

Current CEO Peter Skeat was to stand down to become a non-executive director.

“Galaxy Gold is in a transition phase from development to production, and the board believes the time is right for Ian to move from his previous role as non-executive chairman into an executive role, and to use his considerable past experience to oversee this critical transition,” read a company announcement.
