[miningmx.com] — PLATINUM producer Lonmin on Monday reported a fatality at the Rowland shaft of its Marikana mine.
The incident took place on Friday.
“Management immediately stopped the Rowland shaft, informed the Department of Mineral Resources and began an investigation,” read a company statement.
“The shaft will remain closed until that investigation, which is being undertaken in partnership with all stakeholders, is complete.”
