RBPlat employees return to work

[miningmx] — Royal Bafokeng Platinum (RBPlat) said on Friday its operations at the Bafokeng Rasimone Platinum Mine’s north shaft have normalised, following and earlier illegal strike.

The company said normal production recommenced from the night shift on Thursday.

The company said the Rustenburg Municipality Conflict Resolution Committee has facilitated an undertaking by the 500 striking employees to return to work. Also, the existing three-year wage agreement would be honoured and no new wage demands would be tabled.

“Parties agree to continue with discussions within the existing employee relations structures where other matters not related to issues contained in the wage agreement will be addressed,” the company said.

RBPlat said that in spite of the loss of approximately 14,000 tonnes planned to have been hoisted over the three days at the North shaft, tonnes milled for the month should remain unaffected due to stockpile processing.
