Talks to start on platinum bargaining forum

[miningmx.com] — SOUTH AFRICA’S Minister of Labour Mildred Oliphant
will on Friday open the start of talks among platinum employers on the creation of a
central wage bargaining platform for the sector.

The discussions follow the appointment of a panel on labour relations by the Chamber
of Mines in September.

The panel consists of Meshack Ravuku, a senior figure at the Commission for
Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration, International Labour Organisation technical
consultant Charles Nupen, and lawyer and now conflict resolution specialist Peter
Harris.
