[miningmx.com] — Anglo Platinum, the world’s largest platinum producer, on Monday said 99.5% of its rights offer shares had been subscribed for under its R12.5bn rights offer. The rights offer closed on Friday last week.
Anglo Platinum said shareholders subscribed for almost 24.8 million shares, leaving 122 955 excess shares available.
Excess rights offer shares applied for totalled close on R9.7m, which meant the rights offer was fully subscribed.
The subscription price was R502.18 per rights offer share.
“Given that the rights offer was fully subscribed, after taking into account the applications received for excess rights offer shares, the underwriter will not be allocated any rights offer shares pursuant to its underwriting of minority entitlements,” Anglo Platinum said.
