
[miningmx.com] – SOUTH Africa’s government is to appoint a permanent CEO to its power utility, Eskom, by mid-August, said BDLive citing comments in parliament by public enterprises minister, Lynne Brown.
The publication added that public enterprises director-general, Tshediso Matona, had been tipped to be the likely candidate to get the job. Matona, described by BDLive as “a seasoned public servant”, was also director-general of the Department of Trade and Industry.
Brown told parliament’s joint meeting of the public enterprises and energy committees that the matter was being dealt with urgently.
