[miningmx.com] – NICKY Oppenheimer was listed as the second richest South African in the latest Forbes 400 list of the world’s wealthiest people but he slid down the list to 210 position compared to his 182nd rank last year, said Fin24.
Oppenheimer’s fortune was estimated to be $6.6bn, equal to R75bn, a decline of 0.1% or $8.2m year-on-year, the online publication said.
Anglo American bought shares owned by Oppenheimer’s investment vehicle in De Beers in 2012 severing a more than century-long link between the family and the diamond producer.
