Working group to manage SA power crisis

[miningmx.com] – A BILATERAL working group consisting of government departments and business associations was created last month to find innovative ways of increasing electricity supply in South Africa, said BDLive.

The group, which consists of Eskom, the departments of public enterprises, trade and industry, and energy, and associations such as the Energy Intensive Users Group and Business Unity SA, would also look at reducing the effects of load-shedding.

“The electricity supply constraint is such that it needs the effort of everyone so we don’t have a situation of ongoing load shedding,” Busa energy spokeswoman Laurraine Lotter told BDLive. This collaboration would also boost investor confidence, she said.
