
[miningmx.com] – ZIMBABWE has told its diamond miners they have to start investing in expensive underground miners in order to keep corporate tax flowing, said the country’s Sunday Mail in an article republished by EyeWitness News.
A number of diamond miners in the Marange fields have said they are not remitting much tax because surface resources of diamonds have dried up.
Mines Minister, Walter Chidhakwa, told the Sunday Mail that the firms must now also invest in expensive underground mining operations or they’ll be thrown out of Marange.
