[miningmx.com] – WESCOAL Holdings said its Elandspruit project was on track to produce 170,000 tonnes per month of coal “well before the end of the year” – a development that would be a catalyst for the company.
Commenting in an announcement to the JSE, Waheed Sulaiman, acting CEO of Wescoal, said the firm’s management team had performed “exceptionally well” given the challenges in the coal market and the fact the project was funded out of cash flows.
“During the first week of September 2015 Wescoal concluded a coal supply agreement with Eskom to supply a total of 221,000 tonnes during September and October 2015,” the company said in its announcement.
