Goldplat working on West Africa expansion

[miningmx.com] – GOLDPLAT, the AIM-listed gold recovery firm, said it had conducted “numerous high level discussions” with parties aimed at expanding its business in the West African region and “elsewhere in the world”.

Gerard Kisbey-Green, CEO of Goldplat, said in commentary to the firm’s full-year results, that its gold recovery plant in Ghana would be used as the hub for expansion. Goldplat reported a pre-tax loss of £796,000 (2014: loss of £248,000) although the firm returned an operating profit in the second half of its financial year.

“Discussions are also ongoing with various parties regarding the future of our exploration project in Ghana, Anumso and progress is expected on this front during the 2016 financial year,” said Kisbey-Green.

Goldplat produced 30,524 ounces of gold (2014: 30,977 oz) from its gold recovery operations in Ghana and South Africa. It also operates the relatively small Kilimapesa Gold Mine in Kenya.
