Resgen fails to stop general meeting

[miningmx.com] – A GENERAL meeting to vote on whether to remove the current board of coal development firm Resource Generation (Resgen) would proceed, the Sydney- and Johannesburg-listed company said.

“Altius Investment Holdings has declined Resource Generation’s request to withdraw its requisition for a general meeting to remove and appoint directors,” the company said. The general meeting is planned to take place before the year-end.

Altius said on September 26 that it had requested the removal of the Resgen board, including its CEO, Paul Jury, and that they be replaced with Lulamile Xate, Konji Sebati, Robert Croll, Leepeestswe Molotsane, Denis Gately and Colin Gilligan.

Altius, which owns about 10.7% of Resgen, said that it had first requested an expansion of the Resgen board in order to include South African representatives as the firm was headquartered in Australia whilst the asset it was developing, Boikarabelo, was situated in South Africa’s Limpopo province.
