NUMSA affiliates to ignore Eskom interdict

[miningmx.com] – THE National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa (NUMSA) said it would ignore an interdict obtained by Eskom banning its workers from going on strike, said Sapa citing NUMSA spokesman Castro Ngobese.

“We are continuing tomorrow whether they have an interdict or not,’ Ngobese told Sapa.
“We aren’t threatened by Eskom’s interdict and it should not be wasting money and energy on interdicts,’ he said.

Eskom workers affiliated to the NUMSA were planning on picketing outside Eskom’s head offices in Sunninghill, Johannesburg today. They were demanding an increase of 12% across the board.
