Flood affected coal line to reopen

[miningmx.com] — AUSTRALIA’s most flood-affected coal rail line could be reopened as early as January 20 as floodwaters in Queensland state start to recede, rail operator QR National said on Thursday.

The Blackwater line, serving some of Australia’s biggest coal mines, has been closed since Dec 27.

“On current estimates, services are expected to resume on the line as early as Thursday (20 Jan), pending no significant rain and recovery operations proceeding as planned,” QR National said.
