[miningmx.com] – ZIMPLATS was confident its mines were safe as it studies the cause of a collapsed shaft at its Bimha operation, said Bloomberg News citing the company’s GM Simbarashe Goto.
“I am confident that the other mines are safe,’ Goto told the newswire agency. “We don’t believe there is any reason to strengthen the other mines,’ he said.
Zimplats said on July 18 that the collapse of an underground shaft had cut output by 50% from the company’s Bimha mine. No one was injured.
