
[miningmx.com] – A MUTLI-billion dollar nuclear cooperation deal between Russia and South Africa remains under wraps with even the director-general of the energy department yet to see its contents, said BDLive.
The agreement, described as a pact to cooperate in the future rather than a commitment to a tender, was signed six weeks ago. BDLive said the Cabinet subcommittee on energy security and the National Treasury are still in the dark about what it contains, however.
The South African government is thought to be negotiating other cooperation agreements on the supply of nuclear technology with Japan and China, said BDLive.
