Pan African loses output at Evander, Barberton

[miningmx.com] – PAN African Resources said gold production at its Barberton Mines and Evander Mines was interrupted during November following closures ordered by the Department of Mineral Resources (DMR).

The DMR’s Mine Health and Safety Inspectorate paid unscheduled visits to the mines discovering deviations to operating procedures and administrative processes in the lamp room, self rescuers and gas monitors of the two mines.

Pan African said the deviations were attended to at both mines but the issuances of closure orders, known as Section 54s, at the operations would impact gold production in November that could not yet be quantified.
