[miningmx.com] – TSHEPO Kgadima’s appointment as chairman of the government-owned PetroSA has been rescinded after claims emerged he sold shares in coal businesses that did not exist.
BDLive citing Sankie Mthembi-Mahanyele, the chairman of PetroSA’s holding company the Central Energy Fund (CEF), said the controversy surrounding Kgadima meant he would not be able to carry out his duties at PetroSA.
“In light of the current controversy the board felt it would be impossible for Mr Kgadima to carry out the responsibilities of the chairperson of PetroSA effectively, and accordingly has decided to rescind the appointment,” said Mthembi-Mahanyele.
BDLive said former cabinet minister Zola Skweyiya was considering laying criminal charges against Kgadima after he failed to recover R3m he gave to the latter for certain coal investments.
