Guinea may revoke more iron ore licences

[miningmx.com] – WEST Africa’s Guinea may revoke more mineral licenses including those covering its iron ore riches, said Bloomberg News.

Citing Nava Toure, who is president of a government panel set up to review mineral licenses in the country, the newswire said no decision had yet been made, but “… there are actually in certain cases sufficient motives to recommend a withdrawal’.

Guinea last year revoked two licenses held by a venture of Brazil’s Vale and the mining company of Beny Steinmetz’s BSG Resources covering the Simandou project, the world’s largest undeveloped iron-ore resource, said Bloomberg News.
