[miningmx.com] – THE second quarter 2015 ferrochrome price has been settled at $1,08 per pound for the second quarter of 2015, a rollover from the price in the first quarter of 2015, said Merafe Resources in an announcement.
The company, which holds a 20.5% share in a chrome and ferrochrome joint venture with Glencore, said on March 3 that it would pay a R20m dividend to shareholders despite reporting a fifth lower headline earnings.
Commenting on the markets earlier this month, Merafe CEO, Zanele Matlala, said stainless steel growth in China was expected to grow 5% a year for the foreseeable future which put the company in a good position owing to its low cost base.
