[miningmx.com] – A MINER was killed at AngloGold Ashanti’s Mponeng mine in Carletonville west of Johannesburg in an underground vehicle accident, the gold mining firm said in an announcement.
The South African government’s Department of Mineral Resources had been notified of the event and an in loco inspection was conducted, AngloGold said.
In the meantime, tramming activities at the section where the incident occurred have been suspended, it added.
